salerno lungomare

The Lungomare Trieste of Salerno is one of the landmarks of the city. A pedestrian walk directly on the beach, divided across multiple lanes and 2 km long, from the old town centre to the tourist harbor of Piazza della Concordia. The citizen promenade welcomes many people, during summer and winter: it is the privileged place of young people who meet there at any time of day or night, for athletes who prefer physical activity outdoors and families who enjoy a seaside walk. The promenade comes alive during the spring holidays with entertainment activities for the little ones, with the traditional puppet theater, flea markets and fairs.

The benches facing the sea offers a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Salerno. The cliff, the small wharf for boats docking, dining, artistic lighting are the characteristic features of the promenade of Salerno. In the 90s it was also made a monumental fountain directly in the sea that enriches the design of the long pedestrian promenade.

The structure, which is already among the longest in Italy, is still growing. In fact, the walk along the seafront affects the entire city, arriving to the south coast of Salerno. Gardens, pedestrian or wide sidewalks are also along other stretches of the city promenade, namely the Lungomare Tafuri, the Lungomare Marconi, the Lungomare Colombo and the picturesque Lungomare of Porticciolo of Pastena. The pedestrian path is also accompanied by a bike path for lovers of "green mobility".
