Salerno Metro

Learn about the stops, schedules and fares of the Salerno Metro, one of the main means of public transportation to reach the city's neighborhoods.

The Salerno Metro consists of a single line that runs about 6 km from north to south and crosses the entire city of Salerno connecting the city center with Arechi Stadium in about 19 minutes. Because the entire infrastructure runs parallel to the Southern Tyrrhenian Railway line and consists of only 6 stops, it is classified as "light rail".
Future developments foresee its extension towards the municipality of Pontecagnano Faiano, up to the Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport. In fact, it is envisaged that the entire prolugation to the airport will involve the construction of 4 additional stops: Hospital, Pontecagnano Centro, Pontecagnano Sant'Antonio and Salerno Airport.

During the Luci d’Artista event in Salerno, from November 14, 2025 to February 1, 2026, supplementary metro services will be established to facilitate the movement of visitors.

The Salerno Metro operates daily from 06:00 to 23:00 hours.

Salerno's "light" metro network connects Salerno's central station with the Arechi Stadium-San Leonardo Hospital.

If you want to use public transportation frequently, we recommend that you purchase tickets in advance or buy a season ticket.
