
The Protected Marine Area of Punta Campanella, recognized in 1997 by the Ministry of Environment, affects the coastline of the towns of Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, Positano, Massa Lubrense and Vico Equense. An area which for seabed landscapes offers nature lovers unforgettable emotions.
- The Protected Marine Area is divided into three areas:
- A: integral reserve;
- B: general reserve;
- C: partial reserve.
In zone A, including the rock of Vervece and Vetara is forbidden to surf, swim and fish.
In zone B it is allowed to access, after authorization by the managing body, to the motor boats for guided group visits, and professional fishing regulated and authorized by the managing body, while fishing for diving and anchoring free are forbidden.
In zone C, finally, access to motor boats at low speed is only allowed to reach the moorings that are specially crafted, while anchoring free is prohibited. May also be authorized by the managing body professional fishing with equipment that do not damage the seabed, swimming and scuba diving compatible with the protection of the seabed. Particularly fascinating excursions to discover countless underwater caves, including remembering the cave of Cala Mitigliano.
