Parco dell'Irno

The Park Irno lies on the shores of the river, situated on the road Lungoirno and it is directly connected to the Pinocchio Park area: Terme Campione. A wonderful green lung of the city of Salerno which covers an area of 35,000 square meters, where once a brick factory worked.

The realization of the park has allowed the restoration of the old mill, the furnace and the chimney of the old factory, today tangible elements of industrial archeology, harmoniously blend into the new destination of recreational spaces and aggregation of particular interest. The old building of the mill was recovered preserving the architecture of its ancient function; inside it houses spaces for events and environments used for activities for teens and children. Also the furnace, in its new location, will house a museum and a refreshment point.

From the botanical point of view, within the Park Irno stand "7 theme gardens" according to botanical species that welcome visitors, all surrounded by climbing and ornamental plants: the "garden of centenarians", the "garden of medical plants", the "rose garden", the "garden of fruits", the "garden of aromatic plants of the Mediterranean", the "garden of magnolias", the "citrus garden".
