This exciting itinerary will take you to explore enchanted and unimaginable places, forged by nature and ancient populations who made the resources of this land their power.

Day 1: Discovering Salerno


The 72h itinerary begins from the cozy Campania city of Salerno. Once arrived in Salerno, preferably in the morning and checked in at the hotel, you can have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the old town. After lunch two options of guided tour are possible:


Salerno: Medicine and magic

a theatrical walk to discover the secrets of the Garden of Minerva, testimony to the work of Matteo Silvatico, a distinguished physician of the Medical School of Salerno and connoisseur of medicinal plants. It can then follow a guided tour of the cathedral and the historical center.

The Medieval Salerno:

Itinerant visit in the old town of Salerno during which a guide will explain, in detail, the historical events and monuments and telling the stories of some historical figures (Arechi II, Gisulfo and Ferrante Sanseverino) of the city's history. It can follow a guided tour of the Arab-Norman cathedral and the historical center.

TIPS: You can conclude the day with a delicious fish-based dinner in one of the typical restaurants in the city center and relax with a stroll along the seafront.

Day 2: Amalfi Coast


Early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel or at one of the delicious pastry shops of Salerno, it's time to discover the beauty of the Amalfi Coast.
From Spring to Autumn period the ferry connections from Salerno to the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Positano, Maiori, etc...) are available and you can choose your departure: Piazza della Concordia or Molo Manfredi. You can stop in Amalfi and book a guided tour of this beautiful city which was a prosperous Maritime Republic in the Middle Ages: the Cathedral of St. Andrew (IX sec.) with its ancient bell tower, the beautiful bronze doors and the mosaic façade. Then you could visit in the free time the Museum of handmade paper, or taste the limoncello and other liqueurs or buy some souvenirs in the lovely shops. Then proceed to Positano and and visit the picturesque row of brightly colored houses that descends towards the sea with its shops famous for Moda Mare Positano. After an intense day between land and sea, you can have a dinner in one of the restaurants at Spiaggia Grande in Positano, then return to Salerno, it is pleasant to reach the city center, venue of the nightlife of Salerno, with its bars, pubs and music events.

Day 3: Paestum and Cheese factory


After breakfast, departure to the other Coast of the Province of Salerno, namely the Cilento Coast, considered to be the best kept secret of Italy, in order to reach the Archaeological Site of Paestum. You can reach it by train from the train station of Salerno, by car coming from the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria: from the north, exit at Battipaglia and take the road 18; from the south exit at Eboli and take the SS 18. From highway 18 exit at Capaccio Scalo and reach the Via Laura of Paestum. Or even via sea, from Molo Trapezio of Salerno.
In this place full of history and legends, you will visit the famous Doric temples of Neptune, Ceres and the oldest Basilica; the Museum where among other artifacts are preserved the beautiful Tomb of the Diver, one of the most interesting examples of ancient painting. For the gourmands, to end this journey of flavors and colors discovery, that the province of Salerno offers to its visitors, it's reccomended a special visit of a cheese factory where you can see the process of buffalo mozzarella production and also have a products lunch-tasting.

CURIOSITY: 90% of the people who taste the buffalo mozzarella in Campania, then don't buy it imported anymore in their homeland, due to the great difference in taste.
